Juan Manuel Santos Calderón takes office as Colombia's new president.

 

 

On June 20th 2010, after two rounds of elections, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón was officially elected as the New President of Colombia and was sworn in on August 7th, 2010. Juan Manuel Santos Calderón was born on August 10th 1951. A Colombian politician, he is a former Minister of Foreign Trade, Minister of Finance and Minister of National Defense.

 

Mr. Santos holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Kansas, a Master degree in Economics, Economic Development and Public Administration from the London School of Economics, a Master degree in Public Administration and Journalism from Harvard University, as well as a Masters degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
